Build your mailing list by asking an AI
Describe your audience to ChatGPT, Claude or any AI assistant. It replies with an LLM Count Link that opens the LeadsPlease Count screen with every filter already set, so you see your exact count and price in one click.
- No internal codes
- Free counts, no signup
- Readable, shareable URLs
leadsplease.com/count?list=consumer&county=Maricopa-AZ&homeowner-or-renter=homeowner&age=35-64&income=75k_plus
From a sentence to a priced list in three steps
Ask in plain English
Tell your AI assistant who you want to reach: "new movers in Arizona from the last 30 days" or "dentists within 5 miles of Scottsdale."
Open the link
The assistant writes a Count Link. Opening it takes you to the Count screen with the geography and filters already selected.
Review, adjust, buy
See the exact record count, price and free sample leads. Change any filter you like, then download in CSV, Excel or PDF labels.
Paste these instructions into your chat
Most assistants can build a correct link straight away once they know the format. Copy this once at the start of a conversation, then just describe the audience you want.
You can build LeadsPlease Count Links. When I describe an audience, reply with a link in this format: https://www.leadsplease.com/count?list=<list>&<criterion>=<value>&... Rules: - list (required): consumer, business, new-movers or new-homeowners. - Geography: state=AZ (USPS code); county=Maricopa-AZ; city=Boston-MA; zip=85001; radius=<place>:<miles>mi, e.g. radius=85251:2.5mi or radius=Los%20Angeles-CA:5mi. Always add the state to county and city names. URL-encode spaces (New%20York-NY). - Criterion names and values are lowercase, with hyphens instead of spaces, e.g. homeowner-or-renter=homeowner, recency-of-move=last-30-days. - Ranges: income=100k-200k (inclusive) or income=100k_plus (that value and above). k = thousand, m = million. No $ signs, commas or unit words. - Businesses: industry=<plain-English name, e.g. attorneys> or sic-code=<SIC code>. - Several values in one criterion are comma-separated and mean OR: state=AZ,NV. - Different geography criteria add areas together (OR). - All other criteria must all match (AND): income=100k-200k&age=30-40 means both. - Use only the criteria and values listed at https://www.leadsplease.com/llm-count-links - After giving the link, remind me to check the selected criteria and any warnings on the Count screen.
Want counts and samples right inside the chat instead of a link? Connect the LeadsPlease MCP Server to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor.
Example requests and the links they produce
Each link opens a live count. Use them as templates, or show them to your AI assistant as examples.
Anatomy of an LLM Count Link
| Part | What it does |
|---|---|
/count | Opens the Count screen. |
list | Required. Picks the database and decides which other criteria are valid: consumer, business, new-movers or new-homeowners. |
| Geography | state, county, city, zip or radius. Where the records come from. |
| Audience criteria | Every other parameter: demographics, business details, move details. Who the records are. |
v | Optional link-format version, e.g. v=2. Omit it to use the latest; set it if a saved link must behave the same after future format changes. |
Names and values are lowercase, and multi-word names use hyphens (recency-of-move=last-30-days). Parameter order doesn't matter, and values may be URL-encoded.
Geography
| Parameter | Format | Example |
|---|---|---|
state | Two-letter USPS abbreviation. | state=AZ |
county | County name, then - and the state. Names that contain hyphens are written as-is. Encode spaces. | county=New%20York-NYcounty=Miami-Dade-FL |
city | City name, then - and the state. Names that contain hyphens are written as-is. Encode spaces. | city=Boston-MAcity=Winston-Salem-NC |
zip | 5-digit ZIP code. | zip=85001 |
radius | <place>:<distance>mi. The center can be a state, county, city, ZIP or address. Miles only. | radius=85251:2.5miradius=Los%20Angeles-CA:5mi |
If a county or city is given without a state and the name exists in more than one state, the Count screen lists the matches so you can pick the right one.
Ranges
Criteria marked range below take a range instead of a fixed value:
| Form | Meaning | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Bounded | <low>-<high>, inclusive | income=100k-200k |
| Open-ended | <low>_plus, that value and above | annual-sales=1m_plus |
k suffix | × 1,000 | annual-sales=500k-1000k |
m suffix | × 1,000,000 | annual-sales=2.5m-10m |
| Plain number | As written | number-of-employees=10-50 |
Suffixes are plain multipliers, so they work on any range: number-of-employees=1k_plus means 1,000 employees or more. Don't include $, commas or unit words.
How criteria combine
Geography + audience
state=AZ&income=100k-200k selects records in Arizona and with income $100k–$200k.
Between audience criteria
income=100k-200k&age=30-40 selects records that match both. Each criterion narrows the list.
Within a criterion, and between areas
state=AZ,NM and state=AZ&zip=90210 both add areas together. industry=attorneys, dentists selects either.
industry and sic-code are two ways to pick industries. Used together, they select businesses that match either one.
Available criteria by list
Values are lowercase with hyphens for spaces. The Count screen also offers some criteria not listed here.

What happens when a link isn't quite right
A link never fails because of one bad filter. It opens, applies everything it understood and tells you what it couldn't use.
| Situation | What you see |
|---|---|
Missing or unknown list | The consumer database is used. |
| County or city name found in several states | A list of matching places, so you can pick the right one. |
| Some values in a criterion are invalid | Valid values are applied; the invalid ones are listed in a warning. |
| Unrecognized criterion or value | It is skipped and shown in a warning. |
Malformed range, e.g. income=200k-100k | Treated as an invalid value. |

Any assistant that can write a URL, including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot. Paste the AI instructions from this page into your chat so the assistant knows the format.
No. The link opens the Count screen, where you see the record count and price for free. You only sign in when you decide to buy.
Yes. Records must match all audience criteria in the link, for example income and age. Several values inside one criterion are alternatives, and several geography criteria add areas together.
The link still opens. Valid criteria are applied and anything that could not be processed is listed in a warning on the Count screen, so you can fix it before buying.
No. A link only pre-fills the Count screen. You review the criteria, count and price, and can change anything before checkout.
